About Learning with Britt

Language, travel and working with people from different cultures have been an important part of my life for many years.

I spent five years travelling the world, living and working in different places along the way. I also have more than ten years of experience in hospitality, working with people from different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds all over the world.

These experiences have taught me just how valuable language can be. I know what it feels like to be in a country where you don't fully understand the language. Asking a simple question, having a conversation or making a connection can suddenly become a challenge. At the same time, I've experienced how many doors can open when you are able to communicate in the local language.

I speak Dutch, English, German, Spanish and Portuguese myself. Learning different languages has taught me that every language comes with its own challenges, and that speaking a new language can sometimes feel exciting — but also a little intimidating.

My background

Alongside my international work experience, I have a strong passion for education and languages. After completing my Pabo teacher training, I qualified as a Dutch teacher and went on to complete a Master's degree in Educational Needs. I also have extensive experience in education as a teacher, mentor, NT2 specialist and workplace learning supervisor.

Teaching has always been something that gives me a great deal of energy and fulfilment. I love seeing people grow, learn new things and become more confident in themselves.

Why Learning with Britt?

After years of working in education and hospitality and travelling the world, I knew I wanted to combine two things that are important to me: working with people and continuing to explore the world.

At the same time, I was looking for more freedom — the freedom to shape my own work, discover new places and continue following my passion for travel and different cultures.

That is why I started Learning with Britt: an online language school that allows me to combine my passion for languages and teaching with the freedom to follow my own path.
